About

The National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH) launched in 2021 in response to Recommendation 1 in the Creative Health report.

The NCCH aims to advance good practice and research, inform policy and promote collaboration, helping foster the conditions for creative health to be integral to health and social care and wider systems.

During 2021-2022, NCCH worked with the NHS England Personalised Care team and four Integrated Care Systems: Gloucestershire; Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin; Suffolk and North East Essex; and West Yorkshire, to explore the barriers and enablers to integrating creative health across systems. Each of the four systems was at a different stage of their creative health journey when we began conversations and there have been significant developments since. The toolkit aims to distil that learning into practical ways that other systems can develop their own creative health journey.

We are very grateful to everyone who has been involved in developing this toolkit. Thank you for your time and thoughtful contributions.

The toolkit includes short illustrative examples, drawn from the four systems but also from other places around England. We would like the toolkit to be iterative and welcome your suggestions for examples which might be of interest to other systems. You can submit illustrative examples here.
