Kirklees Year of Music 2023

Kirklees designated 2023 as Year of Music for the district as part of the Yorkshire region’s plans for a Year of Culture in 2023. 

The Year of Music board represents the Kirklees community sectors and businesses and involves people and advisors to support its vision.  Local arts and mental health charity hoot creative arts was commissioned to lead on the delivery of the health and well-being strand of Year of Music, jointly commissioned by Kirklees Council, Kirklees and NHS Kirklees CCG to provide a creative arts programme within the adult mental health service. 

This has enabled the provision of a range of creative health interventions to support social prescribing locally as well as other music based creative health approaches working in the community and the prison. The commission encourages the creation of strong links through the Working Together Better partnership, so organisations can signpost and make introductions that integrate services and make it easier to get support.
