Example of: Creative Sector, VCSE Sector and Local Authority joint training
Creativity Works: co|Create Programme
Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire
Creativity Works began developing training for the creative sector in response to a need articulated by artists who were looking to equip themselves with the skills to support people with mental health issues when challenging situations arose.
This challenge was a common issue with Creativity Works’ partner organisations who were keen to support frontline workers to better improve their practice. Working in partnership with other VCSE organisations in shared training increases viability of courses as take up is greater, and creates connections between ‘people who work with people’ enabling cross sector conversations about support and wellbeing for themselves and for the people they are working with.
Some of Creativity Works’ training is informed with links made with the Public Health team, who are equally keen to scale up training for people working with people. This includes principles within ‘Making Every Contact Count’, and the mental health training programme Connect 5.
