Children and Young People’s Social Prescribing Collaborative
Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin
The development of the ‘creative art’ offers through the CYP South West Social Prescribing Collaborative.
Through the ongoing evaluation of the social prescribing pilot and partnership working through the provider collaborative, gaps were identified as areas of development for the project. Children and young people being supported by the social prescribing link worker expressed an interest in accessing more creative and arts-based activities in their communities. These young people are hard to reach and not accessing the more traditional ‘drop in’ mental health and mentoring support available.
Using some of the funding awarded to them, Hands Together Ludlow commissioned an art facilitator to collaborate with local young people to develop and design arts-based activities while also working alongside local partners to understand their experiences in establishing community-based support.
