Example of: Purposeful data collection to inform delivery and demonstrate impact

i-Thrive
Greater Manchester

In Greater Manchester the THRIVE framework to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people has been expanded to include an Arts, Culture and Mental Health Programme.

In order that impact, learning and best-practice from the programme can be demonstrated consistently and to best effect, the Greater Manchester Youth Mental Health Arts & Culture Evaluation Kit has been produced in collaboration with creative health practitioners, academics, mental health professionals and service providers. It suggests a minimum set of outcome measures which are a combination of those used by NHS mental health services and those developed by the i-THRIVE team. Collecting data in this way will ensure a good body of comparable information on the programme that can be used to evidence impact.

The kit combines demographic information, national metrics, experience data (including qualitative data from interviews and focus groups with the young people) and creative outputs, such as exhibitions or performances which are recommended to demonstrate impact.
