Southwark is a diverse community and experiences many of the health and social inequalities and challenges of an inner-city borough.  

Southwark Council Public Health and Culture Team initiated the Southwark Culture Health and Wellbeing Partnership (SCHWeP), one of the first borough-wide partnerships for culture health and wellbeing.  With a cross-sector membership of 150 and a core group of around 50 individuals, SCHWeP meets quarterly, working together to share experiences and tackle inequalities through moving away from an exclusively medical model of care towards a more community-based, person-centred approach.

Anyone can be a member, current members include artists, organisations, healthcare providers and researchers.
